A number of parents and family members over the weekend shared pictures via social media of how their children were handling the grief over the death of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman.
A number of children mourned the loss of the beloved actor by having a funeral for Black Panther with all their action figures. One such post has nearly 50,000 retweets and more than 442,000 likes. The father who posted the picture responded to the moment going viral.

“Kian wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of his heart for all the loving and kind words given to him for this post. When he found out about Chadwick’s passing, he was heartbroken. But he knows death is a part of being human and wanted to cope with losing his hero this way,” the Twitter user wrote.
The iconic Boseman died Friday at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, and family by his side. He was 43. Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family revealed in a statement. He had never spoken publicly about his diagnosis.
News of his passing sent shockwaves not only through the entertainment world but also in the sports world as Boseman gave a celebrated performance of Major League Baseball legend Jackie Robinson in 2013’s 42. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Robinson’s team, held a moment of silence before playing the Texas Rangers on Saturday night.
Stars and politicians, including former President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, shared their devastation over the loss of Boseman.
The final tweet posted to Boseman’s Twitter account, which shared the news of his passing, has become the most liked tweet of all time. The social media company announced the historic news Saturday afternoon, sharing on its official account: “Most liked tweet ever. A tribute fit for a King. #WakandaForever.”
ABC will debut the Marvel Studios film Black Panther on its broadcast network ABC on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, in a special commercial-free airing. Following the movie, ABC News will air a special about Boseman called Chadwick Boseman – A Tribute for a King.
