South Korea’s exports rose in September, buoyed by extra working days and a pickup in global commerce as lockdowns eased in major economies.

Overseas shipments increased 7.7% from a year earlier with the help of two-and-a-half additional working days, the trade ministry said Thursday. The figures came in stronger than economists’ forecast for a 3.5% increase. Exports to China rose 8.2%, while semiconductor shipments increased 11.8%.
