The Race for Shipping’s Green Fuel of the Future

Shipping is responsible for about 90% of world trade, but it also accounts for almost 3% of man-made carbon-dioxide emissions.

So, if sustainable trade is an industry-wide goal, the world needs greener ships. Shipping burns about 5 million barrels of fossil fuel every day. But, by 2030, vessels running on clean alternatives need to start hitting the water.
