China Reaches Out to Key U.S. Allies After Biden Election

China’s top diplomat will seek to shore up ties with two U.S. allies next week, as the countdown to the end of President Donald Trump’s administration prompts a recalibration of Beijing’s relations with close neighbors.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Japan from Nov. 24-25, where he was set to meet Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga as well as his counterpart, Toshimitsu Motegi. Wang will subsequently travel to Seoul from Nov. 25-27 for talks that will include a meeting with Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs saidBloomberg Terminal.
