Mapping pro-Trump demonstrations across the country

As rioters broke into the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, dozens of smaller pro-Trump protests took place in dozens of cities across the country, with some leading to violence. 

Where protests contesting Electoral College count occurred

About 100 protesters, some of them armed, gathered outside the state Capitol in Georgia, prompting Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his staff to evacuate their offices.  

A group of Trump supporters breached a gate at the Washington Governor's Mansion in Olympia. While on the grounds, dozens of protesters waved flags and chanted slogans as law enforcement stood guard on the front porch, according to The Seattle Times. After roughly half an hour, the group left the grounds. No arrests were made, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol told the Times. 

Protests led to clashes in California. A crowd of about 200 gathered near the Los Angeles Police Department headquarters, according to the Los Angeles Times. The demonstration began peacefully but later resulted in fights between opposing sides. Six people were arrested. 

Several hundred Trump supporters rallied outside the state Capitol in Sacramento. The rally was calm at the beginning as well with clashes between opposing groups later on. Eleven people were arrested for carrying pepper spray.

In Salt Lake City, a newspaper photographer was pepper-sprayed by Trump supporters.
