President Joe Biden is putting into play his national COVID-19 strategy to ramp up vaccinations and testing, reopen schools and businesses and increase the use of masks — including a requirement that Americans mask up for travel.
Speaking in the State Dining Room Thursday during his first full day in the White House, Biden announced that he is unveiling a national strategy to combat COVID-19 that reflects the ideas he set forward during the presidential campaign.
Biden said the plan is "comprehensive, it's based on science not politics, it's based on truth not denial, and it's detailed."

Biden said despite the plan, he warned the crisis will "get worse before they get better." But he promised, "help is on the way."
Later in the event, Biden signed 10 virus-related executive orders.
