Uganda received 175,200 AstraZenaca doses from the Covax initiative, shoring up depleting stocks as a spike in infections increases demand for inoculations.

The vaccines are part of a batch of 800,000 doses donated by France to Covax and distributed to African nations, according to Evan O’Connell, a senior media relations manager at Gavi.
