Brazil's rare cold snap threatens global coffee supply
Brazil supplies nearly half of the world's coffee. Price swings for arabica coffee are the biggest in nearly two decades as a cold snap in southern Brazil triggered snowfall. Temperatures could drop as low as 27° Fahrenheit posing a high frost risk to the coffee and cane areas of Parana. Sao Paulo has lost as much as 70% of their crops due to low temperatures and drought.
