Boston Fed Taps Economist Susan Collins as Chief, ‘22 FOMC Voter

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston said its next president will be Susan Collins, an economist at the University of Michigan who will become the first Black woman to lead one of the U.S. central bank’s 12 districts.
Collins, who earned a doctorate in economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, replaces Eric Rosengren, who stepped down last year. She currently serves as the University of Michigan’s provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, and is scheduled to take up her new post July 1, the Boston Fed said in a statement Wednesday.
