The U.S. mountain states have become an epicenter of inflation.

Consumer prices rose 9% in the region last month, a big jump from just a year ago, when the inflation rate ran at 1.2% year over year. The mountain states, which include Arizona, Colorado and Idaho, are home to cities that have seen the biggest gains in housing prices during the pandemic.
