Attorney General Garland Tests Positive for Covid After DC Event

Attorney General Merrick Garland tested positive for Covid-19, the Justice Department announced.

Garland, who appeared earlier Wednesday at an in-person event with other senior DOJ officials, is fully vaccinated and not experiencing symptoms, the department said.

His positive test comes after he was reported to have attended the annual Gridiron Club Dinner April 2 along with hundreds of other public officials and media members, many of whom, including Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), have since also tested positive.
