Vietnam’s broad anti-corruption push is quickening as police detained former Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long, one of the highest-ranking government officials to be swept up in investigations into executives from the stock market to the coast guard.

Authorities also arrested former minister of science and technology Chu Ngoc Anh and former deputy minister of science and technology Pham Cong Tac for allegedly violating regulations on the management and use of state assets, causing losses and waste, according to a statement on the public security ministry’s website late Tuesday.
