Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said he’s dropping out of the crowded Democratic primary race for an open seat in the state’s redrawn 10th Congressional District.

In a video message posted on Twitter Tuesday, de Blasio said it was clear that “people are looking for another option.” Polls had showed him trailing several other candidates. He thanked those who helped during his congressional campaign as well as previous runs but didn’t say what his next steps would be.
