A fire broke out at an air base in Russian-occupied Crimea, with at least one fatality reported. Russia’s Defense Ministry said munitions had exploded and the fire wasn’t caused by an incoming strike.

But some defense analysts said it had the hallmarks of a Ukrainian attack. While Ukrainian officials didn’t explicitly claim an attack on the base, they issued fresh vows to regain Ukraine. An adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy tweeted “it is just the beginning.”
