An Uzbek immigrant who drove a truck onto a Manhattan pathway on Halloween 2017, killing eight people and injuring at least 18 others, was found guilty of all counts and may face the death penalty.

Sayfullo Saipov, 34, of Paterson, New Jersey, was found guilty by a jury on Thursday after a three-week trial in federal court more than three years after he steered a rented truck down the pathway on the West Side on Halloween afternoon. The penalty phase of his trial is scheduled to start on Feb. 6.
