Faced with record food inflation, a third of Spanish households say they have reduced consumption of fresh meat and fish, turning instead to cheaper canned and frozen products.
The finding in a survey by consumer rights group OCU published in January, the most recent such poll, also showed that Spaniards are increasingly seeking out products with longer shelf lives. About two-thirds of households now buy more items on sale and generic products than before.
