Boeing Can’t Seem to Get Out of Its Own Way

Another production problem adds to the planemaker’s myriad issues.

At least the glitch isn’t an immediate safety concern.

It’s getting difficult to keep track of all of Boeing Co.’s myriad production issues, regulatory holdups, delivery delays and charges. Every time the company appears to find its footing, another issue crops up that prevents it from doing its primary job of handing over aircraft to customers. This time the problem involves incorrect installation by supplier Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. of two of the rear fittings that attach the 737 Max jet’s vertical tail to the body of the plane.
