The Master reports a suspected Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) attack on a merchant vessel while the vessel was transiting in the Indian Ocean approximately 300-400NM southeast of the Horn of Africa overnight of 26th Apr 24. The vessel and crew are reported safe and the vessel is proceeding to its next port of call. Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.

The first attack, the vessel experienced an explosion in close proximity to the vessel, which was felt by the crew on board. Subsequently, the second attack on the vessel, consisted of what is believed to be two missiles, which resulted in damage to the vessel. Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.

The resulting fire was successfully extinguished by the crew. Vessel and crew reported safe. Vessel continuing to next port of call. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.

UKMTO has received a report of an incident 102NM South East of Nishtun, Yemen. Master reported 1 small craft approached within approximately 1 cable of the vessel. Armed Security Team and small craft occupants exchanged small arms fire. Small craft then departed the area. Vessel and crew are reported to be safe and vessel is heading to next port of call. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
