Charlize Theron has famously been the face of the Dior j’Adore fragrance since 2004 and now, two decades into the partnership, the actress is taking on a few new roles with the maison as ambassador for high jewelry and skincare.
"It’s exciting to start this chapter in a longstanding partnership with Dior," T&C's November 2023 cover star said in a statement. "Over the past 20 years, it’s been an honor to collaborate creatively with the house as the face of j’Adore. I’m proud of all we have been able to create together and to be joining Dior in celebrating the beauty of Jewelry and Skincare. I’m looking forward to what’s to come."
Theron will be Dior's first-ever ambassador for high jewelry, and according to WWD, she is expected to showcase "the most exclusive pieces" designed by Victoire de Castellane, the artistic director of Dior Joaillerie for the last 25 years.
The South African actress will also become the first actress to represent Dior skincare since Sharon Stone, who was the face of the company's Capture line from 2oo5 to 2012.
"I am particularly proud to welcome Charlize Theron as Dior's jewelry ambassador," Delphine Arnault, the Chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, said of the announcement. "Charlize is an icon and is the perfect representation of the alliance between arts, craftsmanship and dreams magnificently embodied by the jewelry created by Victoire de Castellane for the House of Dior.”
Véronique Courtois, the CEO or Parfums Christian Dior, also commented: "Charlize is a member of our family who embodies the Dior spirit that we treasure. Her rare talent, her commitment, and her other-worldly beauty makes her an icon."
He continued, "She is a woman who speaks to, and is liked by, other women. It therefore seems natural to reveal her myriad facets at the heart of the Dior world, by celebrating her triumphant femininity into other areas so appreciated by women: skincare on top of jewelry."
In addition to these new appointments, Theron will continue to collaborate with Dior on important issues, like empowering women, in tandem with her Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
